High-Output, High-Efficacy, White-LED Lighting
Environmentally Friendly, Energy Conserving, Extremely Bright, Extremely Reliable, More Efficient than Florescent, Halogen and Incandescent.
Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are solid-state devices that convert electric energy directly into light of a single color. Because they employ “cold” light generation technology, in which most of the energy is delivered in the visible spectrum, LEDs don't waste energy in the form of non-light producing heat. In comparison, most of the energy in an incandescent lamp is in the infrared (or non-visible) portion of the spectrum. As a result, both fluorescent and HID lamps produce a great deal of heat.
In addition to producing cold light -
LED lighting is the most environmentally-friendly lighting technology available!
Quality LEDs have a measured lifetime upwards of 100,000 hours.
Low power consumption. Generally one LED will operate at 2-3.6V and 0.02-0.03A, and needs no more than 0.1W.
Low voltage - LEDs operate on extremely low voltage which has the result of less cost and more safety than current-hungry incandescent lights.
LEDs are of different colours - (with LED theatre spots you can conjure up every colour without filters).
LED light bulbs give off directional light, so the light goes where you aim it. A more directed light means less wasted light.
LED bulbs are closer to the color of daylight — which new studies suggest is good for staying alert.
LEDs are exceedingly strong and therefore less breakage and damage.
LED lights can be directly connected to power sources such as solar panels.
LEDs are safe with no UV or infrared rays.
LEDs can be powered from a portable battery pack or even a solar array.
LEDs can be integrated into a control system.
LEDs are small in size and resistant to vibration and shock.
LEDs have a very fast “on-time” (60 nsec vs 10 msec for an incandescent lamp).
LEDs have good color resolution and present low, or no, shock hazard.
Longest lifetimes of any lighting technology @ 100,000 hrs - Incandescent @ 750 hrs
Environmentally friendly (no mercury) - Fluorescent has 10 to 40mg Hg per bulb
One of the largest power plants in the U.S. could be eliminated as a result of each U.S. household replacing just one standard 60 watt bulb with a CC Vivid LED Light bulb.
