Typically, a LedKooLight retro-fit aims to replace existing out of date lighting to new energy efficient systems that offer a decrease in electrical costs, improved light intensity, improved colour spectrum, and an improved maintenance or re-lamping schedule.
Depending upon the age and type of light fixture a retro-fit can simply involve re-lamping the fixture with up to date bulbs. More often a ballast and bulb are changed at the same time due to the age of bulbs and the technology requirements to drive the new bulb (an up to date ballast). Very rarely is the light fixture itself replaced, but often cleaned during the retro-fit to improve lighting.
With the introduction of LedKooLight's, a typical retro-fit is relatively simple. However, since the ballast of LedKooLight's are contained within the bulb, a replacement in certain fixtures requires the old ballast to be bypassed straight to the lamp holders reducing labour costs. |
